Pathfinders Kit Leonardo da Vinci Ornithopter
Leonardo's fascination with flight is evident in his many studies of birds and different human powered flying machines. Da Vinci's ornithopter design has been combined with one of his bevel gear designs to make a working model with flapping wings and a pilot with moving arms and legs.
A fun and inspiring project for ages 9+ from one of the greatest minds of history.
The kit is easy to make and contains all the timber pieces, glue and string required
Pathfinders Design and Technology designs and manufactures wooden science kits for educational and recreational use. Pathfinders is based in British Columbia, Canada and spends time with kids in schools, making and using the kits to see how well they deliver curriculum for teachers, and to make sure they are engaging and appropriate for both fun play and educational aspects.
Pathfinders works with local companies. Their manufacturer in Taiwan is a local family-run factory, and most of their stockists are neighbourhood toy stores, supporting local and small business people.
